  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste (or extract)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apples by coring and chopping them into large chunks. Combine with apple juice and vinegar in a large pot. Bring to a boil.
  2. Once softened (about 30 minutes), stir in brown sugar, vanilla paste, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. Blend until smooth using an immersion blender or countertop blender.
  4. Return to the pot and simmer uncovered for an additional 30-45 minutes, stirring frequently until thickened.
