  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix yellow cake mix, melted butter, one egg, pumpkin puree, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat cream cheese and two eggs until smooth; add remaining pumpkin puree and spices.
  4. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan; layer with the cream cheese mixture; top with remaining batter.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until set but soft in center.
  6. For frosting, whip cream cheese with brown sugar and softened butter; gradually add powdered sugar until smooth.
