  • 5 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 1 cup of granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Stir well.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the flour, remaining 1 cup of granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Pour the melted butter into a 9×13 inch baking dish. Add the vanilla extract and milk to the dry mixture and stir until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish without stirring. Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter without mixing them together.
  6. Place your dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Let your cobbler cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
