  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 pan with foil, spraying it with nonstick baking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and cocoa powder until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, beat together sugar, eggs, espresso powder, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  4. Combine the mixtures and gently stir in flour until just combined.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in the pan and bake for 25-28 minutes; let cool completely before frosting.
  6. For the frosting, mix heavy cream with instant coffee granules until dissolved. Beat together softened butter, salt, powdered sugar, and coffee mixture until fluffy.
