  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 8 slices crispy turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides (about 5–7 minutes).
  5. Add BBQ sauce to the skillet and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  6. Slice sub rolls lengthwise and toast them in the oven for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Assemble the subs by placing meatballs inside each roll, topping with BBQ sauce, shredded cheese, and turkey bacon.
  8. Return assembled subs to the oven for an additional 2–3 minutes to melt the cheese.
  9. Serve immediately with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
