  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 6 chicken hamburger buns, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, chopped
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
  2. Add onions and garlic to the skillet; sauté until softened.
  3. In a large bowl, mix beef with Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and torn buns.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, mustard, vinegar, sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder for the special sauce.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer half the beef mixture followed by half the special sauce and half the cheese. Repeat layers.
  6. Top with American cheese slices and sesame seeds. Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes until bubbly.
